South Slope Weekday Events Spotlight: November 2 – 4

Dragging from a Daylight Saving Time/Marathon/Halloween hangover? That’s no reason to skip out on some weekday fun! From Barbes tunes and Election Day activities, to karaoke and horror stories with friends, folks in the Slope won’t have to go far for fun. Here are some of our favorite weekday events from around the area.

Raphael McGregor
When: Monday, November 2, 7pm
Where: Barbes, 376 9th Street and 6th Avenue
What: Brain Cloud’s lap steel player Raphael McGregor and his quartet take the Barbes stage on Monday, playing some of his recent music.
How much: $10 (strongly) suggested donation.

Election Day In Prospect Park
When: Tuesday, November 3
Where: Prospect Park
What: Kids have the day off of school on Tuesday? From nature events at the Audubon Center to potato sack races at Lefferts House, Prospect Park is ready to entertain the family after grownups rock the vote.
How much: Nature programs: free, Lefferts House: $3 suggested donation, and carousel: $2 per ride.

Karaoke
When: Wednesday, November 4, 9-11pm
Where: Freddy’s, 627 5th Avenue, between 17th and 18th Streets
What: Celebrate this week’s halfway point by belting out a tune – and possibly winning a prize for doing so. It’s lo-fi (the lyrics are on actual paper), so don’t expect too much pressure, but do expect a good time.
How much: Free.

American Horror Story Wednesdays
When: Wednesday, November 4, 10pm
Where: Excelsior, 563 5th Avenue, between 15th and 16th Streets
What: American Horror Story is in full swing, and Excelsior is playing the hit program on their television screen every Wednesday. Grab a cocktail, kick back with some friends, and enjoy the show.
How much: No cover.
