South Slope Weekday Events Spotlight: July 27-29
Don’t wait until the weekend for a little neighborhood fun! With everything from comedy and trivia, to superheroes and movies under the stars, folks in the Slope won’t have to go far for summertime entertainment. Below are some of our favorite events from around the area.

Quarter Life Crisis Comedy Open Mic
When: Monday, July 27, 7pm
Where: Supercollider, 609 4th Avenue between 17th and 18th Streets
What: Looking for laughs, or need a spot to test out your material? Signup for Supercollider’s open mic comedy night starts at 7pm on Monday. There’s no cover, but you must be over 21 to enter.
How much: Free.
Trivia Night
When: Tuesday, July 28, 8pm
Where: Johnny Mack’s, 1114 8th Avenue
What: If you’ve got a bit of trivial knowledge just taking up room in your brain, let it out here for the possibility of free shots and prizes!
How much: Free.
Story Play
When: Wednesday, July 29, 10:30am
Where: Park Slope Library, 431 6th Avenue at 9th Street
What: Bring the family out to the library on Monday morning for stories, games, and fun with friends. Geared toward children ages birth to 3 years.
How much: Free, but tickets are required for entry (one per family), be sure to arrive early.
Superhero Training Lab
When: Wednesday, July 29, 3-4pm
Where: Park Slope Library, 431 6th Avenue at 9th Street
What: Wednesday’s Park Slope Library craft hour has kids (ages 6 and up) rocking themed crafts, listening to superhero stories, and more! Note that younger children are welcome as long as they’re accompanied by an adult.
How much: Free, but limited to 20 participants, so get there early to guarantee a spot.
Shape Up NYC: Glutes In Gear
When: Wednesday, July 29, 6-7pm
Where: Prospect Park, Audubon Center
What: Looking for a belly-busting, booty shaping workout? This two-part class focuses on high-endurance cardio and mat work to build your core, and flatten and tighten your abs and glutes. No registration is required, but be sure to bring your own mat.
How much: Free.
Summer Movie Under The Stars
When: Wednesday, July 29, 7-11pm
Where: Prospect Park, Long Meadow North
What: Nothing says summer like movies in the park! Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams and the Prospect Park Alliance present screenings of family films every Wednesday on Long Meadow. Entertainment begins at 7pm, and the movies will start after sunset. This week’s film is Where the Wild Things Are.
