South Slope Events Spotlight: September 26-29
Whether you’re in the mood for football and beer or family fun (that also happens to have beer), the neighborhood has a little something for everyone this weekend.
Bud Light Night at Brooklyn Pub
When: Thursday, September 26, 8:25pm
Where: Brooklyn Pub, 689 6th Avenue at 20th Street
What: Are you ready for some football? The San Francisco 49ers are taking on the St. Louis Rams, and Brooklyn Pub is hosting a special Bud Light Night. Look for giveaways, raffles and (of course) beer!
How much: Free!
Friday Music at Freddy’s
When: Friday, September 27, 7pm
Where: Freddy’s, 627 5th Avenue, between 17th and 18th Street
What: Friday night is rocking at Freddy’s this week. The Nervous Breakdowns take the stage at 7pm, follwed by Oakland’s Sean McArdle at 7:45. Miwa Gemini begins at 8:30, Maia Pillot is up at 9:15pm, The Henry Mena Ego Trip follows at 10pm, and Dead Young Friends is at 11pm. If you’re a real night owl, be sure to stick around for the Fred Thomas Trio at midnight.

Tenstock Fall Festival
When: Saturday, September 28, 11am to 3pm
Where: Prospect Avenue, between 7th and 8th Avenue
What: P.S. 10’s third annual TENSTOCK fall festival is back, and chock full of activities, food and entertainment for the whole family. Look for pony rides, a bounce house, bounce obstacle course, carnival games, face painting, caricaturist, craft projects, food, sweets, a chili cook-off, a book swap, and more.
How much: There’s a small fee for crafts and activities, but all proceeds support P.S. 10, so it’s totally worth it.
Hip Tot Family Day at Greenwood Park
When: Sunday, September 29, 12pm to 3pm
Where: Greenwood Park, 555 7th Avenue, between 19th and 20th Street
What: It’s the final Greenwood Park Hip Tot Family Day of the season. Bring the kids for a dance party with DJ Misbehavior, story time and a book signing with Betsy Bird, crafts, games, raffles, and beer for the grownups!
How much: Free!
