South Slope Events Spotlight: December 20-23

From gingerbread to carolers, there’s plenty to do around South Slope this weekend. These are our top picks.

Thursday, December 20

Come out to Barbès (376 9th Avenue) this Thursday, and listen to Andy Statman play, what the New York Times calls,”Modern American music with ancient mysteries at the core.” Show starts at 8pm, and there is a $10 cover.

Friday, December 21

Get your carol on with the 5th Avenue BID this Friday, as they celebrate the season with Make Music Park Slope. South Slopers can gather at South (629 Fifth Avenue), Freddy’s (627 Fifth Avenue), or Piramide (499 Fifth Avenue) at 6:45pm, and spread holiday cheer for 8 blocks down 5th Ave. Meet at Washington Park (5th Avenue and 3rd Street) afterward for more caroling, hot chocolate and cider.

Saturday, December 22

City Stomp is offering a free trial class to families with children ages 5 months to 4 years The class is scheduled for 10am this Saturday at their 283 Prospect Avenue location. RSVP is required. Email the time you would like to attend, your name and your child’s name to info@citystompmusic.com.

Sunday, December 23
