Fort Greene and Clinton Hill artists, take note!

Local arts nonprofit, South of the Navy Yard Artists (SONYA) is seeking submissions for its 2015 SONYA Transition Exhibition, to be held on Thursday, January 15 at 122 Washington Avenue, between Myrtle and Park Avenues.

The theme of “transition is a fundamental dimension of our work,” states SONYA on their website in their call for submissions. “In some cases. . . this transition represents a shift in artistic style or practice.”

The deadline is in two weeks: Wednesday, December 17, and artists must be SONYA members to apply. Submissions should include up to two high-resolution images in JPEG format, each with a title, medium description, dimensions, and price. Three-dimensional work such as sculptures require the artists to supply their own pedestals or other support. Pieces larger than 36″-by-36″ are also accepted.

Entries or questions should be sent to Kennis Baptiste at kennisbaptiste@gmail.com or 917-562-7402.
