Son Allegedly Stabbed 70-Year-Old Mother In Neck At Their Dahill Road Home: NYPD

A 49-year-old man allegedly stabbed his 70-year-old mother in the neck and torso before turning the knife on himself in their first-floor apartment on Dahill Road, near Albemarle Road, early Thursday morning, the NYPD said.

Police said they responded to a 911 call at 4:19am and discovered the suspect standing with a 12-inch kitchen knife in his hand. The responding sergeant ordered him to drop the knife, and when the suspect failed to do so, the police used a stun gun on him, according to the NYPD.

The suspect had self-inflicted wounds to his wrist and neck, and the mother was discovered with a slash and stab wound to her neck and torso, police said. CPR was administered to the mother, and she was brought to New York Methodist Hospital in stable condition.

The suspect was brought to Lutheran Hospital in stable condition.
