Some Animals in Prospect Park’s Trees Are Stuffed

While walking near the northern corner of Prospect Park this week, we came across some surprising species hanging around the trees despite the cold temperatures.

Tied to strings attached to branches above a section of path between the Park Drive and Flatbush Avenue, there are about a couple dozen stuffed animals, small plastic creatures, and at least one plush guy who appeared to have been intended as a cat toy.

Most people walking past didn’t seem to notice, and neither did the chickadees that were poking around the trees. Anyone know how these got up there? And is this creepy or cute?
