Six Types Of Falafel And More Are Coming To 711 Fulton Street
Six types of falafel.
That’s just one (or six?) of the many menu items planned for Falafel Brothers, a new health-conscious eatery that will open at 711 Fulton Street in “around 30 days,” according to co-owner Rami Avadi, a real estate guy who saw the space and apparently couldn’t pass it up.
“It is an organic falafel shop with a menu of different styles of hummus, six flavors of falafel, a tremendous amount of salads (baba ghanoush, beets, Israeli salad, red cabbage. . .), soups, and shakes,” explained Avadi, who is launching the business with a close friend who is “like a brother,” thus the eatery’s name.
Located between St. Felix Street and Fort Greene Place on the north side of BAM Park, the restaurant will also be vegetarian- and vegan-friendly, with “no meat [and] no dairy,” just about everything made on-site, and will stay open late — “past 10pm” — in order to cater to what Avadi believes is a need in the area for healthy late-night food options.
“There are a lot of bars, pasta and pizza” and this would be “perfect, small, convenient, good, clean, not messy, and quick,” he said, adding that it will also be affordable, with a sandwich and a drink — “a full sandwich from the heart” — costing “no more than $7.”
