Sheep Breaks Free From 21st Street Meat Market Tuesday

Third Avenue saw a bit of excitement on Tuesday afternoon, when what was originally reported to be a “vicious goat attacking people,” turned out to be a frightened sheep that had somehow escaped from the Al Noor Halal Meat Market (149 21st Street).

This isn’t the first meat market escapee we’ve seen in the area, with a chicken making its way to 23rd Street back in April.

The sheep, which was eventually cornered at the Fun Air & L duct factory by concerned passersby and police, was returned to the market, and according to a report by DNAinfo, is scheduled for slaughter Wednesday.
