Senator Adams Releases Crime Reporting App
State Senator Eric Adams, who represents Park Slope between 7th Avenue and Prospect Park West, has released a new app called “Brooklyn Quality of Life” for Android (available now) and iPhone (coming soon).
Although not a replacement for 911 in an emergency (especially since it seems a bit slow), the app allows users to report suspicious activity or dangerous conditions by sending photos, audio or video via anonymous email to volunteer retired detectives, who can then forward the information on to police. Adams believes the app will help those who may not want to go to the police directly, as well as allowing people to send pictures and files, which of course can’t be done by calling 911. The app was developed by Avatar Management.
