See Reindeer, Santa, And Brooklyn’s Tallest Tree Lighting Today At MetroTech

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN – Rescheduled due to rain Tuesday evening, Forest City New York will host its 28th annual Light Up the Holidays @MetroTech event today, featuring Brooklyn’s tallest Christmas tree.

The event kicks off at 4pm at MetroTech Commons, between Jay Street and Flatbush Avenue, and Willoughby Street and Tech Place. Along with lighting up the 55-foot-tall tree,  there will be photo opps with reindeer and Santa Claus as well as live entertainment including special performances by Brooklyn Ballet and the Brooklyn Friends School and an AR/VR demonstration by NYU Tandon School of Engineering.

Korilla BBQ and La Défense will supply complimentary snacks and beverages while 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge will pour hot cider for attendees. As part of their 1 Less Thing Initiative, the hotel will be collecting gently used clothing items for Housing Works.

An afterparty is scheduled from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at Circa Brewing Co. (141 Lawrence Street). Pick up a voucher at the MetroTech event to redeem one complimentary holiday cocktail or one seasonal beer at the bar.
