Scenes From The 2013 Flatbush Frolic

The weather was beautiful for the 2013 Flatbush Frolic, hosted by the Flatbush Development Corporation on Cortelyou Road this past Sunday. Everyone we spoke to said it was one of the best events in its 38-year history, pointing to the diversity of vendors, food options, and neighbors who came out to walk down the middle of the bustling street.

We’ve rounded up some photos that neighbors posted from the Frolic, and have a slideshow of our own at the bottom of the post — if you have any photos you’d like to add, send them to us at ditmasparkcorner@gmail.com and we’ll add them to this post!

Anne Pope from Sustainable Flatbush demonstrated their bike-powered smoothie, while Chris Kreussling, aka the Flatbush Gardener, dissected flowers and more. Photos below by Keka Marzagao:

There was a lot of music and dancing this year, whether on the main stage or right in the street. Some neighbors who live nearby weren’t so pleased with the volume, though.

And the food! In addition to the mozzarepas and multiple corn on the cob stations, local restaurants were out with a lot of tasty bites and drinks, some of which could be enjoyed in the “beer garden” set up for the first time this year.

And now scroll through the pics we took below, and see if you recognize anyone!
