Save The Date: The 70th Precinct’s National Night Out Will Be Tuesday, August 4
On Tuesday, August 4, from 6:30-9:30pm you can join your neighbors at the 70th Precinct’s National Night Out Against Crime event at the Parade Grounds (Caton Avenue at Argyle Road).
The free event is part of a nationwide event to promote community involvement in crime prevention and will include a barbecue, rides, face painting, games, blood pressure screening, etchings for bicycles, phones, and iPods, and more. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Deputy Inspector Richard DiBlasio and other police from the 70th Precinct, as well as representatives from the 70th Precinct Community Council, community leaders and elected officials, will be at the gathering.
Neighbors are welcome to discuss concerns with police at the event, which follows a number of violent crimes in our community, including neighbor Adetunji Ajakaye being killed on Newkirk Avenue and E. 17th Street and Harold Abodia being fatally shot on E. 21st Street.
For more information about the National Night Out, you can call the 70th Precinct’s Community Affairs office at (718) 851-5557.
