Salsa And Support Hurricane Maria Victims In Puerto Rico
DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN – The Downtown Brooklyn Partnership will host a free outdoor Salsa party to support relief efforts in Puerto Rico tomorrow, October 4, from 5pm to 7pm at Willoughby Plaza. The Downtown Brooklyn Partnership requests that attendees bring supplies to the event to donate to those in need.
Diapers, baby food, batteries, first aid supplies, and feminine hygiene products can be donated at a table stationed at the plaza. All of the donations collected at the event will added to the NYPD’s 84th Precinct collection center and sent to Puerto Rico as part of NYC’s ongoing relief efforts.
Salsa Salsa Dance Studio, who led Downtown Brooklyn Partnership’s popular Salsa September series, will also lead Wednesday’s event, offering a 30-minute Salsa lesson beforehand at 5pm to teach attendees the dance moves and help them warm up for an evening of fun for a good cause.
