After legislators and Governor Cuomo allowed rent laws to expire last Monday, legislators agreed on Friday to temporarily renew through Tuesday the laws that affect about two million New Yorkers living in rent-regulated apartments — including thousands of people in our area.

With those laws set to once again sunset tomorrow, the Flatbush Tenant Coalition, which represents tenants throughout our community, is inviting all neighbors to travel with them to Albany tomorrow, Tuesday, June 23 to call on Governor Andrew Cuomo and legislators to strengthen the rent laws.

Buses headed for Albany will leave from Downtown Brooklyn at 6:30am and return by 7pm. If you’d like to join our neighbors, RSVP immediately by calling 718-635-2625 or emailing ftcoalition@gmail.com.
