Road Closures Around Barclays For Fashion Rocks Event

Fashion Week is hitting our area today, as VHI’s Fashion Rocks event will take over the Barclays Center, with performances by Jennifer Lopez, Duran Duran, Usher, and more (and probably some fancy clothes and stuff, too). But that also means road closures near the arena.

The 78th Precinct shares word that the event, taking place on Tuesday, September 9, will have a red carpet on Dean Street between Flatbush Avenue and 6th Avenues, adding that they’ve worked with organizers to try to minimize the hassle for locals.

“The 78th Precinct staff has been involved with the planning of this event and has implemented a strategy to minimize the inconvenience for our local residents,” Captain Frank DiGiacomo writes.

The following closures will be in effect today:

  • Dean Street between Flatbush Ave and 6th Ave (6am-midnight)
  • 6th Avenue between Atlantic Ave and Bergen St (3pm-midnight)
  • Pacific Street between Carlton Ave and 6th Ave (3pm-midnight)

All closures are for traffic only — pedestrians will still have access (as will residents and garage access), but pedestrians will not be allowed on the arena sidewalk.
