Rep. Clarke One of Four Photoshopped Into Historic Pic

After the inauguration of newly elected members of Congress, the 61 Democratic women got together for a photo. Or did they?

One version of the photo went around the media circuit, but then another version, shown above, showed up in Nancy Pelosi’s Flickr stream. In the photo her office released, four members, including our own Representative Yvette Clarke, were Photoshopped in above the top row.

Pelosi explained to CNN that this shows it as “an accurate record that it was freezing cold,” and that they couldn’t wait all day for everyone to be in the same place at the same time: “It wasn’t like we had the rest of the day to stand there.”

Don’t worry, though — just because she wasn’t there for the photo doesn’t mean she wasn’t thinking about that particular moment in history.

“Out of sight is not out of mind,” Clarke told us last year in response to constituents’ concerns about her not being around much in our district.
