4th Avenue and 11th Street is about to receive a huge makeover.

A rendering for 470 4th Avenue, which The Real Deal received in a press release and published on Friday, shows a 14-story brick and glass high rise that absolutely dwarfs its neighboring buildings.

Slate Property Group’s Martin Nussbaum, who joins Adam America Real Estate Group and Naveh Shuster Limited in developing the property, recently told DNAinfo that “the building will have about 105 apartments, all of which will be market-rate rentals.”

Demolition of the existing buildings at 4th Avenue and 11th Street should be complete in the next couple of months, according to The Real Deal.

Nussbaum told DNAinfo that “we’re not putting up a glass tower, we’re putting in something that’s conforming to the neighborhood.” What do your think? Does the rendering “conform” with the neighborhood, or do these giant high rise buildings stick out like a sore thumb?
