Reminder: Participatory Budgeting Meeting Tonight
You’ve got an idea for a neighborhood project that could use some funding, right? Tonight is Park Slope’s first chance to tell Council Member Brad Lander where you’d like to see $1 million spent, as the second year of participatory budgeting gets going. The public meeting starts at 6:30pm at Greenwood Baptist Church, 461 6th St at 7th Ave.
If you can’t make it, you can also add ideas to a map online. Suggestions are already rolling in, and some in our area include:
• Marked parking spaces on residential streets.
• More public restrooms in Prospect Park.
• Fixing up the animals with chipped paint at JJ Byrne Park.
How do those ones sound? And what suggestions are you going to make?
