Remember To Change Your Smoke Alarm Batteries This Weekend

Before you go to bed on Saturday night, remember to change your clocks! Daylight Saving Time begins at 2am on Sunday, March 9, which means you are going to lose an hour of sleep as you roll back the clock–but hopefully you’ll enjoy that little bit of extra daylight at the end of the afternoon next week.

As always, it’s also a great reminder to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, so remember to grab some batteries while you’re out and about in the next couple days. Here are some places to pick up the freebies today, or tomorrow if you’re brave enough to take a shuttle bus:

Friday, March 7

  • Corner of Stillwell Avenue and Mermaid Avenue, Stillwell Avenue Station, 4 to 6 p.m.
  • Broadway Junction, Jamaica Avenue and Fulton Street, 4 to 6 p.m.
  • Utica Avenue and Eastern Parkway (Subway Station), 4 to 6 p.m.

Saturday, March 8

  • Target, Atlantic Terminal, 139 Flatbush Ave., 12 to 4 p.m.

Be safe, and enjoy your Springy weekend!
