Register To Volunteer For Mulchfest 2016 In Prospect Park!
Since the holidays are in full swing, Christmas trees have taken over the neighborhood. And while the thought of taking them down seems far away, recycling those trees will begin soon enough.
But the Prospect Park Alliance and all NYC Parks are going to put them to good use. And they are hoping you will volunteer for Mulchfest 2016 which will take place Saturday, January 9 and Sunday, January 10, 2016.
Christmas trees and wreaths will be recycled into mulch that will nourish plantings across the city!
Volunteer tasks will include welcoming the public who will be bringing their trees, unloading trees, disassembling wreaths, loading up bags of mulch, and more.
Volunteer slots and times vary, so you can click here to register for the event.
The event will take place at the 3rd Street Entrance on the west side of Prospect Park. For more information, you can contact the Volunteer Department at volunteers@prospectpark.org or 718-287-3400.
And don’t forget to bring your own tree and wreath to mulch when you go!
