Rainbow Loom Addiction Sweeps Across South Slope
Forget marijuana and meth, South Slope kids have a new addiction and its name is Rainbow Loom. “It was like the kids couldn’t live without it,” P.S. 107 principal Eve Litwack recently told DNAinfo. “It was just getting to the point where it was really crazy.”
P.S. 107 (8th Avenue, between 13th and 14th Street) became the second school in the city to ban the popular bracelet making kits this week, after kids were spotted covertly weaving inside their desks during class.
“When a teacher says it’s interfering with what she can do in the classroom,” Litwack said to DNAinfo, “it’s just not healthy.”
With all this attention on kids and Rainbow Looms, though, the ones truly in need of help are slipping through the cracks. Our pets.
Hidden underneath beds, behind couches, inside closets, pets across the country are looming their lives away.
No running, no playing, not even a tennis ball could distract Mr. Miggins from his starburst design. The madness must end. Don’t let your pet become another statistic. Talk to them about the dangers of Rainbow Loom addiction. Together, we can make a difference.
