It hasn’t been too cold yet, but the last few days have been a bit dreary, so if you are looking for a quick, warm pick-me-up, we recommend grabbing a cup of Ginger Milk ($3) and a Sponge Cake ($1.50) from Little Miss Saigon at 921 Cortelyou Road.

It may look like just a cup of warm milk, but the added ginger spice really makes it something special. The spicy kick lingers after a sip and definitely helps to warm you up. It’s a welcome addition to the typical warm drinks we gravitate toward in the winter.

We recommend pairing it with one of the tasty sponge cakes baked by Kam Hing Bakery in Chinatown. There are several different flavors, including original, butterscotch, chocolate chip, and green tea. Our favorite is the butterscotch.

What are your favorite warm treats to combat cold, dreary weather?
