Question Of The Week: Where’s A Kid Supposed To Swing Around Here?

Those of us who don’t have kids don’t know the ins and out of local playgrounds–although we’re lucky to have contributors who fill that void to an extent–so it was pretty surprising to hear from a young family yesterday who recently moved to the neighborhood that our area apparently isn’t chock full of swings.

Swings! I loved swings as a kid so much–particularly twisting the chains as tight as I could, kicking off, flying all over the place, and often colliding with the side of the swing set–that my parents made me get bangs to hide all the bruises I gave myself. No kid should be without swings (and a supervising adult to make sure they don’t follow my example)!

It’s not exactly ideal playground weather yet, but for when it warms up a tad, help a family out–where’s your favorite place to have a swingin’ good time in Ditmas Park?
