Pure Essentials & The Modern Chemist Both Opening Second Locations
If you spend time along 7th Avenue, you may be familiar with Pure Essentials and The Modern Chemist, the health and beauty shop and pharmacy that share a space at 189 7th Ave, on the corner of 2nd Street. But if you don’t get up there very often, you may be glad to hear that each business will be expanding to a second location in the neighborhood.
A sign recently went up in 234 5th Avenue, the newly remodeled space that used to be a residential unit, announcing Pure Essentials will be opening there. They tell us that it should be open fairly soon, in about a month or so, and that they’ll have the same sorts of products that they carry on 7th — skin care, hair care, baby products, and more.
However, this Pure Essentials space will not have a pharmacy — so the one coming nearby, to 164 5th Avenue, with be the only one on that stretch for now.
Meanwhile, as we mentioned before, The Modern Chemist will also soon have a second location, at 191 4th Avenue on the corner of Sackett Street. Pharmacist and owner Carlos Urriola tells us he’s getting closer to opening, and expects to be welcoming neighbors to the space around the first week of March.
He says it will be a full-service compounding pharmacy, plus he will offer the things you expect to find in a pharmacy, from personal health care items, sports wellness items, general health products, and more.
Not to worry, though, 7th Avenue — that shop where both businesses currently reside will continue on as usual.
