Protest Rally To Save John Dewey High School Tonight

We were recently tipped off by a reader that tonight at 6pm, parents, students, teachers, alumni and community residents will hold a rally at John Dewey High School (50 Ave X) in protest of the school being closed for poor performance on city evaluations.

Last month, Bensonhurst Bean reported that Dewey, as well four other area high schools are being slated by the city to “close” – which many teachers think is just a code word for “fire all the experienced teachers in order to hire newer ones for less money.”
