Prospect Park Walk/Run Attracts Big Numbers
The Prospect Park Walk-a-Thon and Run was scheduled for this morning, and following Hurricane Sandy, they decided to keep it scheduled, and put all proceeds toward repair and restoration of the park, where over 300 trees are down or so badly damaged that they will be taken down for safety. So how did it turn out?
Neighbor Michael Milch sends this report from the event:
They expected 500 people, already over 1200 for the run. It’s a madhouse, but everyone’s in a great mood. They said they probably don’t have enough t-shirts or bibs with timing chips, but no one cares. People are just donating money without registering.
I love Brooklyn.
