The fire that tore through the first two floors of 419 Myrtle Avenue (on the corner of Clinton Avenue) Tuesday morning left one firefighter injured and major damage to Putnam’s Pub & Cooker, a popular bar located on the ground floor of the building.

The fire began around 11am on February 14, between the first and second floors of the four-story building, according to DNA Info. More than 100 firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and brought the fire under control shortly after noon.

The cause of the 2-alarm fire is still under investigation, said FDNY. One firefighter suffered minor injuries while battling the blaze and was taken to New York Methodist Hospital for evaluation. He is expected to recover.

No other injuries were reported and the FDNY did not say whether the building’s 12 residents were displaced last night.
