Police Seek Suspects In Citywide Streak Of Armed Robberies
The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in finding three men they say robbed at least 10 businesses across the city over the past five weeks.
The closest incident to our area, cops say, was a robbery last Thursday, February 20, at the Crown Grilled Chicken at 1611 Cortelyou Road (between 16th and 17th Streets). Police say that in the local incident as well as others throughout the 66th, 69th, 67th, 73rd, 63rd, and 113th Precincts, the three suspects have all worn masks and gloves and displayed one gun. In each case, they have taken money from the register as well as any customers present. No injuries have been reported.
Anyone with information about these crimes or the identity and the whereabouts of the suspects is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting your tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577. The NYPD says all calls are confidential.
