Police Seek Suspect In Assault At The Velvet Rope Club

Police are searching for a suspect who punched a clubgoer in the face at The Velvet Rope near Brighton Beach.

On a Saturday night at the Velvet Rope European Club & Karaoke the suspect reportedly punched a 29-year-old man in the face before grabbing another object and hitting him several times on the head, police say. The assault occurred around 8:30pm on December 17, at 3212 Coney Island Avenue near Brighton Beach Avenue.

The victim suffered lacerations to his head and was rushed to Lutheran Medical Center in stable condition.

The suspect is described by police as a white man, approximately 50 years old, 5’10” with a bald head. He was last seen wearing a light colored long sleeved shirt.
