Updated: Police Searching For Man Exposing Himself In The Neighborhood Today
Updated 2:30pm: After neighbor Julie contacted us about the man who exposed himself to her on Westminster Road, between Ditmas and Dorchester, this morning, another neighbor, Nana, wrote to us about a similar experience she had earlier today.
As happened with Julie, Nana said the man exposed himself to her on Westminster Road, between Dorchester Road and Ditmas Avenue.
As she approached her car, Nana said she saw a man standing near the vehicle.
“I was a little confused as to why he was by my car but I as I got closer, and realizing I was the only person on the block, the man decides to pull down his pants to show me his private parts,” Nana wrote to us.
The neighbor continued, writing:
In fear, I continue to walk faster and the man also follows me, smiling. I called the cops twice, and my first call didn’t go through. I called again and explained to the 911 operated that a black man, 5-feet-6-inches, wearing a black shirt, black sweat pants and a red hat was flashing me and also following me. When I got to the corner of Ditmas Avenue and Westminster Road, the man walked towards Coney Island Avenue once he saw other pedestrians were close by.
After she spoke to 911, police never responded, Nana said.
“I made it safely to school but with a paranoia that the man was still following me,” she wrote. “I always walk down Westminster Road to school, so I’m not sure if this man was watching me throughout time.”
Original post: We just got an email from neighbor Julie, who wanted to warn neighbors that a man exposed himself to her while she was walking her dog on Westminster Road, between Ditmas Avenue and Dorchester Road, around 10am this morning.
As soon as our neighbor got home, she called the police, who came by and told her were canvassing the neighborhood for the man. Police also got a call for the same person on Ditmas Avenue, Julie told us.
The neighbor described the individual who exposed himself to her as a black man who was in his mid-20s and stood about 5-feet-10-inches. He wore a red baseball hat, a black jacket and brown pants.
If you have more information about this individual, you can call the 70th Precinct at (718) 851-5511.
