Police Release Sketch And Photo In Attempted Rape On 2nd Street

Police have released a sketch of the suspect they are searching for in an attempted rape which took place early Sunday morning in Park Slope. A photo of the Acura the suspect fled in after the incident has also been provided.

Some details have been updated since our previous reporting on this incident.

A 21-year-old woman had just gotten off the F train at the 7th Avenue and 9th Street exit at approximately 4:30am Sunday, May 22 when she began walking north on 7th Avenue.

The woman then made a right turn onto 2nd Street at the intersection of 7th Avenue. As she walked on 2nd Street in the direction of 8th Avenue, police say a man began to pursue her.

Cops say the suspect approached the victim from behind, and then touched her genitals over her underwear. The suspect forced the victim to the ground, pulled off her underwear, and attempted to rape her.

The victim fought off the attacker and then yelled for help.

The suspect then ran into a dark-colored 4-door Acura, and fled westbound on 2nd Street.

After the incident, the woman went to her apartment.

Police describe the suspect as male, Hispanic or Indian, 20-25 years old, 5’8″-6’0″, 170-180 pounds, and was last seen wearing light colored shorts and a light colored shirt.
