A drug bust on Thursday-Friday, January 22-23 netted 14 alleged drug dealers who reportedly operated out of the Farragut Houses in Vinegar Hill, said police.

The bust — which also recovered guns, cocaine, heroin, and marijuana, is touted as a blow against an ongoing problem of drugs being sold in nearby playgrounds and Farragut Houses lobbies, which sit adjacent to the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

Councilmember Lauri Cumbo praised the development, stating that “our families have lived in fear for far too long, afraid to walk outdoors in their own neighborhood. The arrest of the alleged suspects will hopefully result in a decline of crimes in the area to ease the fears of local residents who deserve to live in a safe environment.”
