Looking for some fun events to enjoy with the kids this week? We’ve got some good ones coming up in the neighborhood:
Toddler Winter Formal And Valentine’s Day Dance
When: Wednesday, February 5, 10:30am
Where: Central Library, Youth Wing, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Dress up and dance at this special winter formal Valentine’s day dance for the toddler set, ages 18-36 months.
How much: Free, tickets available day of at the children’s reference desk.
Story Craft
When: Thursday, February 6, 3:30pm
Where: Pacific Library, 25 4th Avenue
What: Kids up to age 5 are welcome to hear a story, then make a craft.

Just As I Am: YOUth Empowerment
When: Thursday, February 6, 4:30pm
Where: Central Library, Youth Wing, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: The first in a new series at the library of personal and spiritual development workshops for teens aged 13-18.

Book Launch: Something Real by Heather Demetrios
When: Thursday, February 6, 6-8pm
Where: PowerHouse on 8th, 1111 8th Avenue
What: Join the South Slope author for a reading and signing of her debut young adult novel about the teenaged former star of a realty TV show. Free for families (though no appropriate for younger children).

Explore & Create: Arts And Crafts For Kids
When: Friday, February 7, 4pm
Where: Park Slope Library, 431 6th Avenue
What: A weekly, free drop-in program where kids can roll up their sleeves and explore their artistic side. This week’s theme is the Olympics!

Rain Play!
When: Saturday, February 8, 1pm
Where: Central Library, Dweck Center, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Illustrator and author Javaka Steptoe tells the story Rain Play!, his book of little ones playing games and having fun on a rainy day. Accompanied by tap dancer Michela Marino-Lerman, it should be an energetic show of words, dance, and syncopation.

Sing Along With Miss Amy
When: Sunday, February 9, 10am
Where: Two Moon Art House & Cafe, 315 4th Avenue
What: Playing original and well-known songs on guitar, ukulele, and percussive things, singing stories with puppets and bubbles, Amy brings her quirky style to the sing along arena.
