Playtime In Park Slope: Upcoming Children’s Events

Don’t forget the kids’ mittens if you’re heading out to one of these fun events this week!

Story Play
When: Wednesday, January 8, 1:30pm
Where: Park Slope Library, 431 6th Avenue
What: At this new weekly program, bring children from birth to 3 years to enjoy stories and some playtime.
How much: Free, but tickets are required, so arrive early

Banjo Singalong With Spencer
When: Thursday, January 9, 3pm
Where: Two Moon Art House & Cafe, 315 4th Avenue
What: Put a spring in your and your child’s step with American folk songs, children’s favorites, and humorous originals during 45 minutes of fun, laughter, and educational enhancement from Spencer Chandler.
How much: $5 and the purchase of one cafe item

Game On!
When: Thursday, January 9, 3:30-5pm
Where: Central Library, Youth Wing, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: This week is definitely board game weather, and kids can enjoy a bunch at the library — just ask at the children’s reference desk to sign them out.
How much: Free!

Explore & Create: Arts And Crafts For Kids
When: Friday, January 10, 4pm
Where: Park Slope Library, 431 6th Avenue
What: A weekly, free drop-in program where kids can roll up their sleeves and explore their artistic side.
How much: Free!

Dan Zanes House Party Open House
When: Saturday, January 11, various times for different age groups
Where: Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, 58 7th Avenue
What: Dan Zanes, who has been bringing music to kids around the world for years, has partnered with the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music to launch a new music education program for kids, and you can get a preview this weekend. If you can’t make it this weekend, there’s another open house on Saturday, January 18.

French & Spanish Storytime
When: Saturday, January 11, 3:30pm
Where: Central Library, Youth Wing, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Volunteers from Brooklyn Beanstalk lead a a fun multi-lingual hour for kids ages 12 months to 8 years.
How much: Free, but tickets are required, available at the Children’s Desk beginning at 1pm
