Place Your Participatory Budgeting Votes This Weekend
Don’t forget, this weekend is when our neighborhood comes together to choose how we spend one millions dollars of the district budget. Here’s what you need to know:

Sunday, April 7 from 10 AM – 5 PM
Beth Jacob, 1371 46th Street (at 14th Avenue), Brooklyn
PS 230 Lower School, 425 McDonald Ave (between Church Ave & Albemarle Rd, Brooklyn
Park Slope Armory YMCA, 361 15th Street (between 7th and 8th Avenue), Brooklyn
Carroll Park House, Carroll Street and Smith Street (in Carroll Park), Brooklyn
Voters can choose up to five projects. At the end of voting, those projects with the highest number of votes will received funding. A sample ballot and video presentation from each project can be found on Council Member Lander’s website.
John Jay High School Campus Media & Filmmaking Lab
Computer lab & auditorium projector will provide state-of-the-art technology & student filmmaking program for 4 schools – $100,000
Projector for Celebrate Brooklyn & BRIC Art Center
High-powered projector for large scale free public events at Celebrate Brooklyn and the new BRIC Art Center – $40,000.
Groundswell Community Mural Project Media Upgrade
Multimedia capable computers & printers for organization that brings communities together to create murals for social change – $50,000.
Retain the Rain: PS 39 Stormwater Initiative
Community environmental pilot and outdoor classroom with bioswales and permeable paving to reduce runoff from schoolyard – $125,000.
Install New Fitness Equipment Workout Stations
Expand and install new body weight based fitness equipment stations at the Prospect Park Southwest workout zone – $60,000.
Additional Benches for Prospect Park
Provide additional park benches at selected sites along the interior of the park, mainly along ball field path – $40,000.
Sustainable Running Surface Pilot on Prospect Park Drive
Replace 1/8-1/4 mile of pedestrian lane with softer, porous surface, improving running experience & stormwater management – $250,000.
Bus Clocks at 10-20 Bus Stops Across District
Where is the next bus? Electronic signs at your stop tell you! DOT will install 10-20 displays throughout the district – $75,000.
More turnstiles at Union St R Train Stop
Fewest gates per rider of all district stations; adding two turnstiles would improve safety for 25,000 riders daily – $130,000.
Security Cameras to Enhance Community Safety
Install 4, highly-visible security cameras in each of the District’s four police precincts, especially near Prospect Park – $200,000.
