Pilar Cuban Eatery Launches Brunch Menu This Weekend


A month after moving into a gorgeous new space at 397 Greene Avenue (at Bedford Avenue), Pilar Cuban Eatery is ready to bring us brunch, Cuban-style.

The menu of Cuban comfort food includes house-smoked chorizo (sausage) and bacalao (cod), empanadas, a tortilla espanola with shrimp, build-your-own breakfast sandwiches with your choice of toppings like sweet plantains, and eggs-chorizo-yuca hash.

Here’s the full menu:

Appetizers
Empanadas $9
Picadillo: Angus ground beef, sofrito, olives and raisins
Chicken: chicken, sofrito, olives and raisins
Spinach: creamed spinach and gruyere cheese
Bacalao and Potato (fried): salt cod, sofrito and potatoes

Croquetas $5
Hand-rolled creamy fritters, 2 per order
Bacalao (cod) / Smoked Ham / Potato, Leek & Gruyere

Tortilla Espanola $8-10
Traditional Spanish omelet of potatoes and onions
With shrimp and peas

Avocado & Tomato Salad $10
With mixed greens, watercress, marinated butter beans and pickled onions

Served with potato-leek croquettes, yucca fries, smoked-paprika butter beans and tomato avocado salad

Brunch runs from 11am-4pm on Saturdays and Sundays, and features Morning Glory cocktails and Cuban music.
