From Fort Greene and Clinton Hill to Ditmas Park and even Washington Heights, families from across Brooklyn and New York City enjoyed a rare gorgeous day out by gathering at Habana Outpost’s Earth Day Expo this past Saturday, April 18.

Among the fun activities were a large composting and recycling box setup, eco-friendly face-painting courtesy of Fruiggie Organic Arts and Crafts, glitter tattoos, potato painting from Greene Grape, a bee display from the Gowanus Canal Conservancy, kid-sized planter decorations plus little sprouting plants courtesy of P.S. 20 Farms, a bike that blended a blended smoothies, and electronic waste recycling from the Lower East Side Ecology Center.

There were also drink samples from Kelso Beer and Crown Jewel sorrel.

Earth Day 2015 is this coming Wednesday, April 22.
