Photos: FDNY Open House Day At Engine 210
A steady stream of aspiring firefighters and their parents walked in and out of the Engine Company 210 fire house at 160 Carlton Avenue this past Saturday, celebrating the New York City Fire Department (FDNY)’s 150th anniversary while also giving New York’s Bravest a pat on the back.
The day was filled with local families learning about fire safety, honking horns, and water hose handling — just a few of many behind-the-scenes glimpses into the daily lives and dangerous job of firefighters.
Here are a few photos, courtesy of the FDNY, of the festivities at our local Fort Greene fire house.
In honor of the FDNY’s milestone, the New York Daily News has a pretty dramatic photo series of New York fires and firefighters over the years which is worth checking out.
