Photo Of The Day: Sidewalk Plate
Some of the more interesting, if perhaps less noticeable, bits of the past you can find all over the neighborhood are sidewalk plates, those small metal calling cards, essentially, for the businesses that laid those sidewalks, often quite a long time ago. Though some have been walked over so much they’ve been worn flat, some, like this one on 4th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues, are still totally legible. Have any favorites in the area?
