It’s the end of an era. And it’s not funny at all.

Beloved comic book shop Bergen Street Comics (470 Bergen Street between Flatbush and 5th Avenues) announced on its Facebook page that the store will be closing its doors sometime in September, but will be taking the opportunity to do more with their press:

Friends of Bergen Street Comics:
After six amazing years Amy and I regret to announce that we will be closing the shop next month.
Opening the store, becoming a part of the neighborhood, and getting to meet so many great people has been an incredible experience for us and we are grateful to each and every one of you for giving us the opportunity to build something very special. We will have more details on the closing – as well as on our plans for the future, including the proper launch of Bergen Street Comics Press http://bergenstreetcomicspress.bigcartel.com/ – in the coming days.
You can also be sure that we will be announcing (at least) one more party before we say goodbye.
Hope to see you at the shop.

Customers have cherished this store since its opening nearly six years ago. The offerings have been stimulating for both the casual fan and the “culties” that stopped by regularly, whether to shop, enjoy the annual Free Comic Book Day, or meet artists and authors at their many awesome events.

Best of luck to Tom, Amy, and all the staff!
