It’s Perfect Weather For 80’s Tea

Bensonhurst, please welcome 80s Tea, the latest addition to a growing list of ice cream spots that offer Thai rolled ice cream, milk tea, slushies as well as cheese tea (more on that next time – but in case you are inclined, there are instructions on how to enjoy it posted on the wall).

This is number three that we know of around here, joining Mew Mew (3 Bay 25th Street) and V-Crepe Cocoya (8503 20th Ave) that opened last year.

Located across the street from Rimini Bakery, 80’s Tea opened about 3 weeks ago, at 6815 Bay Parkway, offering bubble tea, Thai rolled ice cream, egg waffles and egg waffles with ice cream and unlimited toppings.

The place is neither large or small, and can accommodate about a dozen people to sit down.

With the temperature approaching 100F and all kinds of terrible weather warnings, it seemed just right to stop in for something refreshing.

For the uninitiated, they have a display case of offerings:

Choices, choices.

This, is how they make the rolled ice cream, and it takes about a minute and a half. Then you get to add toppings:

This is the end result: Fresh Mango and Vanilla Thai Ice Cream Roll (they call it Let That Man Go) for $6.50.
