A person was sent to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle while walking near Shore Parkway and Knapp Street, News 12 Brooklyn reports.

Police could not confirm if the incident was a hit-and-run or provide details on what injuries were sustained by the victim. However, the FDNY said the crash occurred just before 2pm and the victim was sent to Coney Island Hospital.

There have been several other incidents in the area within the last year involving pedestrians and motor vehicles.

Last September, police searched for a driver who fled the scene after striking an elderly woman and toddler at the intersection of Kings Highway and Nostrand Avenue. Both were taken to Kings County Hospital and later reported to be in stable condition.

In January, a man was hit by a bus and dragged down Kings Highway, causing him critical injuries.
