Pedestrian Hit On CIA Near Albemarle
A woman was reportedly struck by a vehicle on Coney Island Ave. at 9:04am this morning, says a spokesman for the FDNY. Police and several emergency vehicles were on location tending to the victim, who seemed conscious and responsive, which the FDNY has confirmed. She was transported to Kings County Hospital.
A witness at the scene said a man driving the beige sedan pictured was attempting to outrun the police Taxi & Limousine Commission. When he tried making a left from Albemarle onto Coney Island Ave., the witness reports that the pedestrian and possibly a bus were hit.
According to a neighbor below who was on the bus pictured, the bus was not actually hit. The driver of the sedan is now in police custody.
