The Moth StorySlam

Where: The Bell House, 149 7th Street at 2nd Avenue
What: Do you have a story to tell? Tonight’s theme is balance, so come share your story or just come listen to everyone else’s. If your story is really great, it might even end up on the radio.

Live Band Karaoke

Where: Threes Brewing, 333 Douglass Street
What: Have you always wanted to be a rockstar singing in front of a live band? Well, here’s your chance. Sing your favorite tunes in front of real musicians at Threes Brewing and live out your childhood dreams.

Mari Koga Quartet

Where: ShapeShifter Lab, 18 Whitewell Place between 1st and Carroll Streets
What: Mari Koga, a Japanese born New Yorker, has chosen Afro-Latin Jazz as a vehicle to launch the new project, which is her new album PERFECT BLUE, offering challenging new arrangements, dynamic composition and a solid vocal performance.

The Fancy Show

What: Brooklyn’s greatest night of free comedy, The Fancy Show, is ready to get your endorphins flowing every Tuesday night. Stop in to enjoy big laughs, cheap beverages, and lots of great chances to mingle before and after the show.The Fancy Show regularly features comedians who’ve appeared on HBO, Comedy Central, NBC, FOX, TBS, SNL, FX and everywhere in between.

Plaza Swing Series: The Afri-Garifuna Jazz Ensemble
When: Wednesday, July 8, 6:30pm
Where: Central Library Plaza, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: The Afri-Garifuna Jazz Ensemble fuses the language, rhythm and percussive instruments of Garifuna music with Jazz to create a new sound. The ensemble uses Garifuna instruments such as the Maracas, Garifuna Drums, Turtle-Shells, Conch Shells, and the Garifuna Language along with piano and bass. Dance lessons are at 6:30pm and the band starts at 7pm

Trivia Night
When: Wednesday, July 8, 7:30pm
Where: The Roof at Whole Foods, 214 3rd Street at 3rd Avenue
What: Come for a mid-week pick me up at The Roof with Trivia Night hosted by Trivia NYC! You’ll not only get bragging rights if you win, but some awesome prizes.
