Park Slope Style: Pietro Nano
I happened upon Pietro Nano in front of L’Albero dei Gelati, leaning up against his Vespa and eating a cup of gelato. It came as no surprise to find out that he hails from Italy.
“That makes me a gelato snob by nature,” he says. “And I can tell you that this stuff is good.”
His favorite flavor?
“The blueberry. I believe I’ve had every flavor, but this is my favorite.”
Pietro is in wine sales, and we chat about East Coast grapes over West. “These new wines that are coming out are interesting,” he says. “There’s been a wine revolution of younger people recently, and everyone is interested in buying local.”
I ask him his inspirations, and his answer is a good one: “My wife is a style writer, too! She doesn’t let me out of the house looking too bad, but everything I wear is very easy. This is my uniform.”
Pietro found his look, and he’s sticking with it. If you see him out and about (“You can find me here, and I also like Beygl,” he tells us) make sure to say hello. He may just recommend your new favorite wine– or at least a good scoop of gelato.
