Park Slope Planner: The Best Events November 6-9
Here comes the weekend, and with it, several events in the area that are worth checking out — from a giant show of cheap prints, to a one-man play, to beers, beers, and more beers (and some beers with sex tips!). Details on those and more below.

Residency: Carl Creighton
When: Thursday, November 6, 8pm
Where: Tea Lounge, 837 Union Street
What: Brooklyn-based songwriter Carl Creighton brings a breadth of styles while maintaining his own unique voice.
How much: Free!
Prints Gone Wild!
When: Friday, November 7, 6pm
Where: Littlefield, 622 Degraw Street
What: Brooklyn’s own Cannonball Press has again assembled an extraordinary menagerie of graphic artists under one roof, who will be displaying and selling their prints for $50 or less for one night only. Expect live printing, beer, music, and a big pile of cheap prints.

The Retreating World
When: Friday, November 7 & Saturday, November 8, 6:30pm
Where: Two Moon Art House & Cafe, 315 4th Avenue
What: A 40-minute, one-character play written by Naomi Wallace and performed by Claude Choukrane, about Ali, an Iraqi veteran of the 1991 Gulf War and an avid bird collector and trader, who shares some of his experiences during the war and from his life in Iraq afterwards under United Nations sanctions.
How much: Free!
Tango Lessons
When: Saturday, November 8, 10am-12pm
Where: Central Library, Dweck Center, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Learn the fundamentals of one of a dramatic dance at this fun, informal series from the IATI Theater. Lessons are in English and Spanish, and there are two sessions: 10-11am is for beginners, and 11am-12pm is for advanced dancers.
How much: Free, but space is limited, so arrive early, and bring your library card for admission.
Smite The Bright
When: Saturday, November 8, 12pm-12am
Where: Threes Brewing, 333 Douglass Street
What: It’s the first time the new Gowanus brewery‘s beer will be sold to the public, so swing by for a growler of this IPA, or just hang out, enjoy some beers while getting a sneak peek at the bar (which will officially open soon), eat some grub from Delaney BBQ, and hear some live music from a bluegrass band that will be playing throughout the day.
How much: No cover, though if you’d like to buy a growler to go, you may want to do so in advance.
Craft Beer Happy Hour
When: Saturday, November 8, 5pm
Where: Babeland, 462 Bergen Street
What: Celebrate your right to have a fun weekend at a happy hour featuring ice, cold beer, and a few sex tips. Plus, they’ll be raffling off a six-pack of toys for you and yours that will provide plenty of weekend fun.
How much: Free, but RSVPs are appreciated.
An Evening Of Fun & Games In Support Of CHiPS
When: Sunday, November 9, 4-7pm
Where: Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club,
What: A ticket includes hours of shuffleboard play and a drink, and the knowledge that you’re supporting a local non-profit that helps so many people in need.
How much: $25, tickets available in advance.
Haunting Renditions Live With Eliot Glazer
When: Sunday, November 9, 8pm
Where: Union Hall, 702 Union Street
What: Excellent songs, excellently rendered by this Brooklyn comedian. As they say, it’s “an intimate night of bad music made good.”
