Tango Lessons

What: Learn the fundamentals of one of a dramatic dance at this fun, informal series from the IATI Theater. Lessons are in English and Spanish, and there are two sessions: 10-11am is for beginners, and 11am-12pm is for advanced dancers.

St. Francis Xavier’s 34th Annual Christmas Fair

Where: St. Francis Xavier Lyceum, 752 President Street
What: Looking for a gift? Vendors will be selling handmade crafts, jewelry, accessories, and more. Plus, they’ll have wreaths and baked goods for sale, and Santa will be there!

Brooklyn Holiday Book Fair

Where: The Old Stone House, 336 3rd Street
What: Find some rare, out-of-print, or just fun new gifts for the bookworms in your life at this annual event that also features a free handmade origami book structure demo, and artist and writer Maira Kalman will be on hand to sign her new book, My Favorite Things.

NYCreates Holiday Craft Fair
When: Saturday, December 6, 12-8pm
Where: Brooklyn Historical Society’s Great Hall, 128 Pierrepont Street, Brooklyn Heights
What: Local ceramist Judith Eloise Hooper and Tom Toomey of TCat Designs, an artist and t-shirt designer based in South Slope, will join 38 other artists and artisans at this 11th annual event where you’re sure to find some unique gifts.

Workshop: What’s Your Story? A Study And Creation Of Comics
When: Saturday, December 6, 1-4pm
Where: Interference Archive, 131 8th Street #4
What: Explore the wide variety of comics in the archive and discuss their personal and societal impact, then try your hand at making one yourself after a lesson.

Early Morning Bird Walk: Twelve Birds Of Winter

Where: Audubon Center, Prospect Park
What: Spend a beautiful morning with our park’s fine feathered friends. This month’s walk, led by the Brooklyn Bird Club, will be on the lookout for Prospect Park residents that do not fly south for the winter.

Simply Unemployable Live: A Night Of Improv And Stand-Up Comedy
When: Sunday, December 7, 8pm
Where: Union Hall, 702 Union Street
What: Matt Catanzano and Richie Moriarty, the comedy duo from YouTube’s Simply Unemployable, host “Simply Unemployable Live” featuring improv from Lauren Adams, Michael Hartney, Trevor Livingston, and Cavan Rogers. The show will also include stand-up from Josh Gondelman (Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Modern Seinfeld).
