Poetry Reading: James Shea And Jennifer Mackenzie
When: Thursday, March 26,6:30-8pm
Where: Park Slope Library, 431 6th Avenue
What: Poets James Shea and Jennifer Mackenzie will read from their work, including recent Fence Books publications The Lost Novel and My Not-My Soldier, respectively.
How much: Free!

New Brew: Sex! Comedy! Economics! An Evening With Trav S.D. (And Friends)
When: Friday, April 3, 8pm
Where: Barbès, 376 9th Street
What: Trav S.D. (libretto) and David Mallamud (music) collaborated on this campy comic opera that’s a post-modern mash-up of Universal horror films, The Pied Piper of Hamelin, the operas of Gilbert and Sullivan, the writings of Sigmund Freud, and numerous other elements.
How much: $10 strongly suggested donation.

The Gowanus Experimental Film Festival
When: Friday, April 3-Sunday, April 5
Where: Gowanus Arts, 295 Douglass Street
What: Part of the third annual Gowanathon, a fundraiser that benefits the Gowanus Arts Building, this three-day film fest features over 20 artists working in animation, narrative, documentary, experimental film, and video.
How much: $10 per day, $25 for the weekend, tickets available in advance.

Frenchie Meetup
When: Saturday, April 4, 9-10am
Where: Longmeadow, Prospect Park
What: Do you live with one of the most popular dog breeds in the neighborhood? Bring the pup to hand out with fellow French Bulldogs and their owners! And maybe meet one of our Dogs of the Day, Wilbur!

DJ: The Woodman
When: Saturday, April 4, 11:59pm
Where: Union Hall, 702 Union Street
What: We’ve been stuck inside too long. Get out and dance!
How much: Free!

Early Morning Birdwalk
When: Sunday, April 5, 8m
Where: Audubon Center, Prospect Park
What: Take a tour with the Brooklyn Bird Club to welcome the park’s earliest migrants, and bid farewell to our winter residents.
How much: Free!

Mad Men Premier Party
When: Sunday, April 5, 9pm
Where: The Bell House, 149 7th Street
What: Slate’s hosting this viewing party, which has a happy hour and other bonuses for its members from 8-9pm, but if you’re just looking for a place to watch the first installment of this second half of the final season of the show, the general public is welcome to join at 9pm.
How much: Free, but RSVP is required.
