Park Slope Appeals to Your Sweet Tooth for Donations

With the kids off from school, local parents made the most by getting kids involved in helping others. As PS 321, the annual election day bake sale turned into a fundraiser for PS 15 in Red Hook, which was hit hard during Hurricane Sandy. With a table of treats outside and even more inside, parents were encouraging people to give generously, because an anonymous donor has offered to match all the funds raised during the bake sale.

Over at J.J. Byrne Playground, a spontaneous bake sale was set up by neighbors to support Occupy Sandy, and by the end of the afternoon they’d raised about $250.

Whether you’ve got a PTA behind you, or you’re just one family, remember that you can make a difference for the people in NYC who are still suffering after last week’s storm. If you’re setting up a bake sale, donations drive, or anything else in Park Slope that you’d like neighbors to know about, let us know in the comments, or send us an email at editor@bklyner.com.
